Centuries old conflicts between Cambodia and Thailand are reflected in the name Siem Reap — Defeat of Siam. Today it acts as a gateway to the ancient city of Angkor. A thriving tourist town and a cacophony of activity. I found myself drawn the the quieter countryside just outside of town.
