Between 1975 and 1979 this former high school was the site of extreme brutality and depravity. Tuol Sleng or Security Prison 21 (S-21) was one of at least 150 known execution centers in the country. Of the estimated 20,000 people imprisoned here, only 12 are known to have survived.
